Movie star Steve McQueen ("Cooler King") rides a BMW R71 in the "The Great Escape" escaping from a W.W. II. POW "escape proof camp" in Germany.  (In fact that motorcycle used by Steve is a English Triumph motorcycle painted just like a BMW motorcycle R71; maybe this Triumph bike was captured or licensed made by the German.)  The German soldiers that chase after him ride the BMW motorcycle R71 with sidecar almost identical to our Chang Jiang 750 sidecar motorcycle. His motorcycle chase scene and subsequent jump over a fence are the most famous scenes in the movie and were remembered by a whole generation.

No motorcycle assembly required on your part after you received the shipment, that is our job! There will be no problem registering the Chang Jiang 750 in your local state because it is a pre 1970's CJ 750 Vintage Sidecar motorcycle and the current DOT and EPA standards do not apply to them.

Chang Jiang 750 is the Chinese copy of the 1938 BMW R71.  It also has similarities with the old style Ural and Dnepr. It is still in production in China on some of the original BMW tooling in three models: M1 (6V, 24 HP, SV Engine), M1M (12V, 24 HP, SV Engine) and M1 Super (12V, 32 HP, OHV Engine). It is virtually the same as the BMW R71 except for a few modifications which make it easier to live with and more reliable and powerful than the original.
